Machining technicians produce metal or plastic components in the process of which they use chip-forming or machining working practices. To these belong, for example, drilling, turning, milling, filing, grinding or sawing. The machining technicians process the workpieces on conventional machines or operate computer-controlled CNC systems, whereby, where necessary, they also create the programmes for this. They plan work steps, choose the materials and check the quality of the finished products. They work together in industrial and commercial sectors with fellow professionals as well as with other specialist and auxiliary personnel.
The safe handling of conventional machine tools (turning, milling, grinding machines, etc.) and cutting tools is just as important for the machining technician as working with the computer on the CNC machines. With the maintenance of the machines, however, they also work with hand tools and auxiliary materials such as, for example, screwdrivers, spanners, hammers and lubricants.
If you are interested in technology and have manual dexterity and are also nimble-fingered and accurate, then a career as a machining technician is very probably just the right one for you. Because in this profession you have with us – Aigner Werkzeuge – good prospects for a career and you also have the choice of whether you would like later to operate manual machines or rather that working with the computers on the CNC machines and robots is the right choice for you.
